(Talk about cryptic naming!)

EDIT: All 3 projects are now part of the Quake Rev PAK collection.

Today, the long-awaited Q2Rev has finally been released. It’s an (almost) full implementation of the id Tech 2 Engine from id Software, for the Nintendo Wii; this one is used as the core engine for the widely known videogame “Quake II” .

Featuring Wii Remote “lantern” look mode, experimental support for the Gamecube controller, USB keyboard & mouse, *and* an On-Screen Keyboard for when you don’t have a physical one, and best of all, support for client netplay over LAN or Internet, you can get it here:

- Binary (628KB)

- Source code & projects (1614KB) (Compilable with devkitPPC r19 – libogc 1.8.1)

The experience gained while working on this port was used too to update an old friend, and bringing a new one to the table.

Today, Q1Rev, the port of the original Quake engine to the Nintendo Wii, was updated to Release 2, with all the changes described above, and recompiled with the latest version of devkitPPC – libogc. Get it here:

- Binary (447 KB)

- Source code & projects (3277KB)

Finally, as a bonus, and considering Q1Rev implements the original Netquake protocol that hasn’t been used in millenia at any real servers, today we announce QWRev, a port of the original QuakeWorld client (version 2.40) to the Nintendo Wii. Full network support, downloadable maps, connects with virtually any QuakeWorld server in the world, and comes with all the goodness from the two releases announced above. Get it here:

- Binary (409KB)

- Source code & projects (3277KB) (shared between Q1Rev & QWRev).

Grab them all at once, and enjoy! Comments are welcome.
